Is it real snow?

You bet it is! Our snow is 100% real - that means it's nice and cold, so don't forget to wrap up warm before heading on to the snow. Hats, gloves and big smiles are highly recommended!

How cold is it?

Chilly enough for snowballs and frosty fun! The main slope stays between 0 and +4°C, while the snow fun park and ice rink chill out at around 0 to -3°C. So, get your cosy layers on - it's snow much fun when you're toasty warm!

What should I wear?

Warm clothing and gloves are essential for snowy adventures – it gets cold out there! For the full lowdown, check out our What To Wear guide. Layers and laughter are both highly encouraged!

Can I purchase gloves, hats, helmets and other equipment at the SnowDome?

Absolutely! Pop into the Ellis Brigham Mountain Sports shop on-site – it’s packed with ski and snowboard gear, perfect for gearing up in style.

Do I need any specialist equipment?

No, not at all, we’ve got you covered! All the essentials like skis, boards, boots, helmets, poles and skates are included in your admission. Just bring your cosy clothes and gloves – we’ll handle the rest!

How much does it cost to hire equipment?

No extra cost here – ski, board, boot and helmet hire is all part of the admission. One less thing to worry about!

Can I use my own equipment?

Yes! If you’ve got your own kit, feel free to bring it along. It’s all about enjoying the snow your way.

Do I qualify for a discount if I have my own equipment?

Sorry, no discounts for using your own gear. BUT if you’re a regular slope superstar, our membership package offers a big saving – definitely worth a look!

Can I hire clothing?

Clothing hire isn’t available, so make sure to dress for the snow. If you’re missing something, the Ellis Brigham shop on-site has a great selection of ski and snowboard wear to keep you warm and looking cool.

Are there lockers and changing facilities?

Yes! We have handy changing rooms and lockers to store your bits and bobs while you’re out having fun. Lockers take a 20p coin (non-refundable), so keep some change handy!

How much does it cost?

Prices vary depending on your chosen activity. Head to the relevant section of the website for all the details, deals and options!

I’m not taking part - can I watch my family or friends?

Absolutely! Grab a seat and enjoy the show. Aspen’s Bar & Kitchen has brilliant views of the main slope - there’s even a balcony so you can get closer to the action! Or head to The Lifthouse Coffee Co to overlook the Snow Fun Park and ice track.

Is there a charge for spectators?

Not at all - watching the fun is totally free! So sit back, relax and cheer them on.

Can I get something to eat and drink?

Definitely! Refuel at Aspen’s Bar & Kitchen (with a view of the slope) or enjoy a hot drink and sweet treat at The Lifthouse Coffee Co, overlooking the Snow Fun Park and ice track.

Are children allowed in the bar?

Yes, our bar is family-friendly.

How long and steep is the slope?

The main slope is 170 metres long and 30 metres wide - the perfect size for snowy thrills! It’s roughly the same as a blue run in a mountain resort, so it’s great for intermediate fun and progression.

What is the recreational standard?

To use the slope recreationally, you’ll need to confidently link turns, control your speed and direction, stop safely, and use all lifts. For more info, check out our recreational standard section.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Yes - helmets are compulsory for all slope users. Helmets are also mandatory for all children aged 2 to 16 years for ice skating and snow fun park. We strongly recommend adults wear a helmet too when ice skating or on snow fun park.

Do I need an assessment before I can use the slope if I can already ski?

No formal assessment is needed - as long as you can link turns, control your speed and direction, stop safely and use the lifts, you’re good to go! Just be honest about your ability for the best experience.

Do I need a lesson if I’ve only skied or snowboarded on a dry slope?

Dry slope experience is a great start! But real snow is faster and can feel different, so if you’re currently learning on a dry slope, we recommend dropping down a level when you switch to snow. Still not sure? Chat with our friendly booking team on 03448 000011 and they’ll help you find the best fit.

Can I teach my friends or family to ski?

As much as we love sharing the snow, for safety reasons, only our qualified instructors can teach on the slope. No DIY lessons - but you can cheer them on from the side and book them in with one of our expert team!

How many levels of lessons are there?

Group lessons come in three levels (each 2 hours), or you can choose fast track lessons in two levels (each 3 hours) to get up to the recreational standard. Alternatively, you can book a full day course. Whichever route you take, you’ll be sliding in style in no time!

How many people are in a group lesson?

Group lessons keep things personal and fun! There's a max of 10 per instructor for ski lessons, and 6 per instructor for snowboard lessons, perfect for learning at your own pace.

Can I book private lessons?

Absolutely! Whether you're a first-timer or brushing up on your skills, private ski and snowboard lessons are a great way to level up with a personal touch. You can book one-on-one or bring a group of up to 6 people per instructor.

Do I have to pre-book?

To make sure you don’t miss out on the fun, we always recommend booking in advance! You can book online, give us a call on 03448 000011 (a £1.95 phone booking fee applies), or pop to Guest Services.

Is there access for disabled visitors?

Yes! Everyone’s welcome at the SnowDome. We’re fully equipped with accessible facilities throughout the venue, so all our guests can enjoy the magic of real snow.

Do you have a crèche?

There’s no crèche on site, so please make sure little ones are looked after while you’re enjoying your activity.

Do you have any birthday party packages?

We sure do - and they’re packed with fun! From snow-filled adventures to action-packed climbing parties, there’s something for every birthday star. Head to the Birthday Parties page for all the details.
