SnowDome will be hosting BASI level 1 this year.
The BASI 1 is an entry level course for skiers and snowboarders with aspirations to join the BASI education system.
The minimum standard expected for the course is confidence at turning on all types of slope and terrain. A sound knowledge of skiing or snowboarding itself is also useful.
The BASI level 1 qualification is for those wanting to find employment in a non-mountain environment, i.e. indoor snow facility etc. It is also the first stage of the BASI Instructor Level 2.
All candidates must be 16 years and above with a good technical ability and an understanding of client care.
Courses run for 5 days, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm
We are now offering a NEW BASI Training day (level 1)
The day is designed to help prepare candidates for the course. The day will cover an introduction to the BASI educational system and an opportunity to get some pre-course training prior to the 5 day instructor course.
The course focuses on your personal skiing/snowboarding and how the Fundamental Elements relate to your ability. A section of the day is dedicated to the Central Theme (BASI’s teaching progression). Video feedback will also be used to enable you to review your performance.
