What To Wear

Fun Activities

Wrap up warm, as you would for a cold winters day! Warm clothes, gloves and a hat are ideal. Also, sturdy footwear with a good grip suitable for walking on snow is recommended. Timberland type boots or Wellington boots are perfect, if not, trainers are fine but they are likely to get wet, so please bring a change of footwear. Lockers are also available for your personal belongings.

If you are ice skating, skate hire is included in the price of admission and your shoes will be looked after whilst you are out on the ice.

These are okay

  • Gloves & woolly hat
  • Warm clothes & layers
  • Sturdy footwear like wellingtons or walking boots

These are not okay

  • Shorts & short sleeve tops
  • Flip flops & sandals
  • High heels

Skiing & Snowboarding

Warm clothing & gloves are essential for all slope users. Warm multi-layered leisure-wear is recommended (i.e. t-shirt or under layer, fleece and a jacket) as it’s always better to have a few layers than rely on a single thick jumper. Also, if you have anything waterproof, particularly trousers, then this is ideal.

Please note that jeans are not recommended as they will retain moisture, become cold and restrict movement.

Gloves are a necessity. These should preferably be non-woolly as snow clings to wool. A pair of leather gloves or specialist ski or snowboard gloves will keep your hands warm.

Skis, snowboards, boots, poles and protective headwear are provided free of charge and you are welcome to use your own equipment if you wish. Protective headwear is compulsory for all slope users. Lockers are available for your personal belongings.

These are okay

  • Non-woolly gloves
  • Warm clothes & layers
  • Waterproof trousers or tracksuit trousers

These are not okay

  • Jeans
  • Shorts & short sleeve tops
  • Woolly gloves

Climbing

Climbers should wear loose and comfortable clothing (we advise against skirts and dresses). Closed toe, secure footwear such as trainers must be worn. We recommend that watches and jewellery are removed and long hair is tied back. Loose items must be removed from pockets before climbing.

These are okay

  • Trainers & closed toe footwear
  • Active wear
  • Hair tied up

These are not okay

  • Jewellery & watches
  • Skirts, dresses & high heels
  • Hair down
